Regional ciders, crafted in accordance with millennia-old traditions, are far more than alcoholic drinks: they are the heirs to the savoir-faire of French apple growers and cider makers.

Cider beverages encompass dry, medium-dry, and sweet ciders, crafted from fermented apple juice. In Bretagne and Normandie, this tradition dates back several centuries. Ciders protected by an AOC or PGI (IGP) must comply with strict specifications: local apple varieties, a defined terroir, and traditional production methods (natural in-bottle fermentation for carbonation), without mechanical carbonation or systematic pasteurisation. The finest ciders strike a balance between residual sugar, acidity, and tannins — a complex profile that is both fruity and mineral.
