Concours de la Foire Exposition de Nancy

Nancy trade fair competition

Six competitions over one week in June, from croissants to pâté lorrain, at the demonstration stand in Hall B.

The Fédération des Artisans Boulangers-Pâtissiers de Meurthe-et-Moselle holds its professional competitions each year during the Foire Exposition de Nancy, at the back of Hall B at 3 pm. They are open to artisans from the department as well as their employees.

The competitions take place over three afternoons. Four judging panels first decide between the croissants au beurre and pains au chocolat. Next comes the ‘one hundred per cent Lorraine’ day, when nearly forty contestants present their pâtés lorrains and quiches lorraines before eight judges. The best baguette de tradition française and the best tarte au fromage blanc bring the week to a close.

The winners receive their trophy a few days later, at the Fédération's general meeting, along with a window sticker to display in their shop window.
