Concours de la Foire aux fromages de Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine

Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine cheese fair competition

The June gathering where the finest PDO (AOP) goat's cheese in France receives its crown.

The Foire aux fromages et à la gastronomie de Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, organised by the Commanderie du Fromage, holds its competition each year in early June — the forty-third edition took place on 7 and 8 June 2025.

It distinguishes goat's cheeses with gold, silver and bronze medals, and crowns the best PDO goat's cheese in France with a Trophée du Chèvre d'Or. The 2025 edition awarded 18 gold, 29 silver and 13 bronze medals; the Chèvre d'Or went to a chabichou du Poitou from the ferme des Gors, in Melle.
