Official quality sign
Organic
The only sign that relates to how crops are grown and animals are reared.
Organic farming guarantees a production method: without synthetic chemicals, with rules governing animal welfare, soil fertility and biodiversity. It defines a way of producing — place, taste and tradition fall under the other five signs.
Certification applies to the operator and their workshops, not to a denomination — this is what distinguishes this sign from the other five. The directory of certified operators also distinguishes mixed holdings, which run part of their production organically and the rest conventionally: among the producers listed here and found in the directory, they make up the vast majority. It is therefore the product that bears the claim, and the label that states it.
170 products, and 184 certified producers in 23 regions
